Helen and Paul’s wedding was a bit special for me. As I got married at the same church six years before.  Melbourne church truly is a beautiful Church.  Helen first found me through Google Maps whilst searching for a local wedding photographer. I invited her to  come across to the studio to meet me.  We discussed the details of their wedding day. Unfortunately with Paul being so busy at work he wasn’t able to come along. Helen brought one of her sons with her.

Bridal Preps

On the morning of the wedding it was a bit wet and damp outside.  Feeling optimistic that the sun would appear  I popped in to see Helen at her friend, Julie’s house.  The pair were busy getting ready  for the exciting day ahead. We captured a couple of moments in the house with Helens sons, Luke and Jack.

I then drove over to Paul house,  I immediately  recognised him from years back, watching international rugby games and having a few pints in the pub together.

Paul and his best man Nick were busy beautifying themselves too.  Luke and  Jack joined us there so we took a few more portraits outside in the garden.

Melbourne Church

On entering Melbourne church, I remembered that you can capture an amazing shot from the balcony at the back of the church.  Following the ceremony, we went for a photo stroll just around the corner from the church to the picturesque grounds of Melbourne Pool, a perfect place for Wedding Photos.

En route to Staunton Harold we took five minutes to stop at their family home for a super shot of the newlyweds with the vintage car they had for the day.

Staunton Harold

The atmosphere at Staunton Harold was very relaxed all the guests enjoyed catching up whilst having drinks along with the most delicious canapé ever to be tasted.

I managed to arrange the guests, despite being the target of much heckling, as I knew some of them, into a heart shape for the perfect guest photo.  We didn’t spend long on formal portraits and it was soon time for the wedding breakfast.  The Wedding Breakfast had mostly prepared by Helen’s Daughter, who after being very busy, did eventually manage to join the party in time for the speeches. Due to the size of the room I found  space to take photos on my long lens.

Just after the speeches a rainbow popped out to top the day off. I managed to take both outside to capture it.

Helen and Paul decided that I had covered everything that they wanted. So I said my goodbyes to a well oiled group of friends.

I truly can not wait to photograph this venue again, in spite of them only hosting 12 weddings a year, I hope it won’t be too long off.
